Robert Half Patient Service Representative in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description We are seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our team in the healthcare industry. This role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Patient Service Representative, you will primarily focus on pre-registration, financial clearance functions, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:

• Validate and maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information.

• Conduct pre-registration tasks prior to the patient’s arrival for service.

• Obtain necessary pre-certification and authorization as required.

• Schedule patients and enter all necessary information into the practice management system.

• Resolve patient inquiries and monitor patient accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.

• Deliver high-quality customer service via phone and other communication channels.

• Contribute to the smooth running of the rheumatology call center. Requirements • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Have previous experience in customer service, preferably within a healthcare setting.

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Show proficiency in using computer systems and software, especially Microsoft Office Suite.

• Display strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, their families, and medical staff.

• Have a deep understanding of medical terminology and health insurance policies.

• Be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively.

• Show a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.

• Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.

• Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Show a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in professional skills.

• Have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings and weekends if required.

• Be able to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

• Demonstrate empathy and patience when dealing with patients.

• Be capable of handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
