Robert Half Systems Administrator in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description We are in search of a Systems Administrator to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role demands a highly skilled individual capable of ensuring the computer systems in our organization run smoothly and efficiently. The position will involve working with various operating systems, hardware, cloud computing applications, and networks. It also requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist other employees who may lack technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Linux, and Mac.

• Work with physical devices such as servers and printers.

• Utilize cloud computing applications like Office365, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS.

• Set up and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

• Implement and oversee network security features like firewalls.

• Provide help desk support to other employees and explain complex technical issues in an understandable manner.

• Configure network settings according to the needs of the organization.

• Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they arise.

• Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure a secure and effective system environment.

• Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to optimize the use of system resources. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the role of a Systems Administrator.

• Proficient in network configuration and related technologies.

• Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor system performance.

• Proven experience in system upgrades, backups, and recovery.

• Knowledge of various operating systems and platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a secure system through understanding of system vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for the purpose of team collaboration and report writing.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

• Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server+, or VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) are desirable.

• Must be available for on-call work and potential out-of-hours issues.
