Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half is currently partnering a growing and stable multi state construction company that is seeking to add a Payroll Specialist to the team. The Payroll Specialist will manage the payroll process for our employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including prevailing wage laws. The ideal candidate will have a background in payroll within the construction industry and a deep understanding of prevailing wages. Duties will include:
Process weekly payroll for employees, including reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring accuracy of payroll data.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of prevailing wage rates and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, including taxes, deductions, and prevailing wages.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and other documentation as required for public works projects.
Collaborate closely with project managers and HR to resolve payroll-related issues and provide guidance on prevailing wage matters.
Manage and reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare reports for management.
Assist with audits related to payroll and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
Implement and maintain payroll systems and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
3+ years of payroll experience
Strong understanding of prevailing wage laws and experience preparing certified payroll reports.
Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
