Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Field Technician in the non-profit sector, based in Claremont, California. The role involves working with a team to prepare and execute projects, troubleshoot fiber wireless, manage UPS, and handle networking from core to IDF access point firewalls.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot fiber wireless systems to ensure seamless connectivity

• Conduct wiring closet work, which includes replacing switches and connecting patches

• Perform tech refreshes and clean-up fiber tasks to maintain the quality of connections

• Manage UPS systems for efficient power supply and backup

• Conduct wireless surveys to evaluate the strength and efficiency of wireless connections

• Work collaboratively with the team to prepare and execute projects

• Handle networking tasks from core to IDF access point firewalls

• Utilize skills in networking, OSP, patch panel, cable installation, cabling, fiber optics, switches, firewall, LAN - Local Area Network, and WAN - Wide Area Network

• Maintain and update ticketing systems to track and resolve issues.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cable Technician in the Non-Profit industry or related field

• Proficiency in Networking, OSP, Patch Panel, Cable Installation, Cabling, Fiber Optics, Switches, Firewall

• Knowledge of LAN - Local Area Network and WAN - Wide Area Network

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure

• Must be able to lift heavy equipment

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Willingness to work in various weather conditions

• Flexible to work on weekends and during non-business hours as needed
