Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a meticulous and detail-focused Tax Staff to join our team in Clarksville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be performing a variety of tasks related to the accounting and tax services industry, including business and practice financial assistance, federal, state, and local tax services, and payroll tax, sales tax, liquor tax, business license, and personal property tax services. You will also provide support in areas such as LLC & corporation formation and banking and loan assistance.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in business and practice financial assistance tasks
• Provide accounting services to ensure the smooth operation of the organization
• Prepare and submit federal, state, and local tax documents
• Manage payroll tax, sales tax, liquor tax, business license, and personal property tax services
• Facilitate the formation of LLCs and corporations
• Offer banking and loan assistance to clients
• Utilize programs such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, and Microsoft Excel to perform accounting functions and manage cash activity
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
• Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving any inquiries promptly and efficiently. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in public tax roles
• Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax is required
• Familiarity with Gosystem and Management System is desirable
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and general accounting functions are essential
• Experience in handling cash activity is necessary
• Knowledge of compliance regulations in tax and accounting is required
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate complex tax information clearly
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with other departments.
