Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Clearwater, Florida
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Clearwater, Florida. As part of our team, you will be working within the Government sector, handling complex financial work in a multi-fund/multi-account environment and providing comprehensive services related to time entry, payroll processing, pension, taxes and general ledger reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive services for county-wide processes related to time entry and payroll processing.
• Manage and maintain accurate records for payroll transactions and processes.
• Utilize the Oracle ERP system to conduct complex financial work in a multi-fund/multi-account environment.
• Support multiple agencies and department operations requiring centralized services.
• Monitor and review payroll transactions and processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle pension, taxes, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Process and manage customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Resolve customer inquiries related to payroll and financial transactions.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions as necessary. Requirements • Must possess proven experience in processing payroll for over 500 employees.
• Demonstrated ability to process biweekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
• Proficiency in using payroll software and other related tools for payroll processing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent mathematical skills to perform accurate calculations.
• Familiarity with federal and state payroll tax requirements and filings.
• Ability to interpret and apply payroll-related laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees and management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for payroll calculations and reporting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll processing and employee issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
• Relevant payroll certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) will be advantageous.
