Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Cleveland, Ohio

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Cleveland, Ohio. This role will be primarily remote with a flexible hybrid schedule for the initial training period. The selected candidate will be responsible for various aspects of accounting and finance, with a focus on customer deductions/disputes, vendor returns, and system functionality testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate analysis and reporting in line with the requirements of the Accounting and Simple Tire Operations team.

• Gain an understanding of customer deductions/disputes and the underlying related accounting transactions and journal entries.

• Manage the expected vendor returns account and coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve aged, anticipated returns.

• Complete monthly and quarterly analysis and entries related to vendor returns.

• Provide guidance to the Accounting Operations team on routine and complex vendor, customer, and accounting issues.

• Support the financial close process to ensure the timely, accurate preparation of financial statements consistent with U.S GAAP and company policies & procedures.

• Utilize resources to gain knowledge of Sage Intacct, Metabase, and related SQL report writing tools for conducting analysis and managing requirements.

• Test new system functionality as it relates to Accounting Operations.

• Participate in physical inventories as assigned.

• Use computer skills to process purchase orders and perform data entry tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in computer skills is required for this role, specifically in the use of accounting and spreadsheet software

• Experience with purchase orders is vital, including the ability to process, track, and manage these orders efficiently

• Proficiency in computer data entry is a must, with the ability to accurately input and manage large quantities of financial data

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and best practices is essential

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information

• Good organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers and internal departments

• Understanding of confidentiality rules and regulations in relation to financial data

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Previous experience in an accounts payable role is desirable but not essential.
