Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Cleveland, Ohio

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves processing invoices, maintaining records, and managing vendor relationships. The position is a contract to hire opportunity, providing a chance for the right candidate to transition into a more permanent role within our team.

Responsibilities:

• Review and validate invoices for accuracy and appropriate approvals

• Match receivers to vendor invoices and assign them to the correct expense accounts

• Oversee the entry of new vendors and manage their required documentation

• Correspond with external vendors to resolve any arising issues

• Ensure clients are properly charged for disbursements and process expense reimbursements

• Generate and submit checks, wires, and Positive Pay reports to the bank

• Maintain accurate vendor records, including 1099 processing

• Investigate old outstanding checks and void them as necessary

• Train new employees on expense entry procedures

• Serve as back up to billing and cash application administrators.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Processing, Data Entry, Discrepancy handling Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) software

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system

• Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Check Processing

• Proficiency in Data Entry

• Ability to resolve discrepancies in accounts

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks

• High ethical standards and professionalism, as it pertains to handling confidential and sensitive information.
