Robert Half International Staff Accountant in CLEVELAND, Ohio
Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a growing firm. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Cleveland, Ohio based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary to full-time basis. They provide an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
ERP system experience
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Excellent attention to detail
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Well-founded grasp of Annual Budget
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience
Journal entries experience
General familiarity with month end closings
Microsoft Excel experience
Proven knowledge of general ledger
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
