Robert Half Tax Analyst II in Cleveland, Ohio

Description

We are in search of a Tax Analyst II to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will support the preparation and review of tax filings, research, and planning required of a multinational insurance and insurance agency holding company. Your responsibilities will also extend to partnership tax matters as required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare corporate non-insurance tax returns and supporting workpapers

• Resolve diagnostic issues that would prevent electronic filing of federal and state income tax

• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision for non-insurance subsidiaries

• Draft responses to federal and state tax notices, assessments, queries, audits, and examinations

• Manage and update a large tax compliance calendar and audit schedules

• Prepare estimate payments, extension requests, annual reports, and other various filings

• Utilize technology to research tax laws, regulations, and instructions to properly report to tax authorities and assist in possible planning opportunities

• Maintain technical expertise related to federal, partnership, state and local tax laws and regulations

• Compile information for and prepare various indirect tax filings, including sales and use, property, franchise, and other various indirect filings

• Work with Procurement and Accounts Receivable to determine the taxability of certain purchases, using the Vertex Sales and Use Tax automation system.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, SAP S/4HANA

• Knowledge and expertise in Ad Hoc Reporting

• Demonstrable experience in Compliance and Compliance Audit

• Understanding of Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Tax Compliance

• Familiarity with Salt, State tax, and Local Tax

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus

• Continual learning and development in tax laws and regulations

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
