Description
Controller opportunity located on CT shoreline!

Main responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Manage accounting staff of 4 team members and all accounting functions for organization.
Perform and review tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Prepare and present financial statements to executives and management team.
Review of Intercompany accounts and reconciliations.
Prepare 1099's.
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies.
Requirements:
10+ years minimum accounting experience including time spent as a Controller.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
CPA certification preferred.
Experience in the financial services industry.
Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting.
QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Experience in multi-entity consolidation and reporting.
