Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Coachella, California
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team within the Hi Tech Engineering industry in Coachella, California. The role involves managing vendor payments and maintaining accurate records within our accounting department. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
• Validate the supporting documentation for vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and purchase card transactions
• Maintain a clear audit trail with respect to all aspects of internal controls, such as signature authority, purchase order & receiving documentation
• Participate in the team effort to promote effective problem resolution in a learning and teaching environment
• Perform a variety of accounting functions related to the timely and accurate closing of fiscal periods and corporate reporting
• Utilize accounting software systems effectively for processing and record keeping
• Leverage Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas for efficient data management and reporting
• Conduct account coding and auditing tasks as required
• Monitor vendor accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
• Enter and process vendor invoices with precision and efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar position
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems
• Familiarity with account coding procedures
• Demonstrated experience in executing accounting functions
• Proven knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in auditing processes and principles
• Ability to enter and process vendor invoices efficiently and accurately
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with Excel Formulas
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
