Robert Half Finance has a full-time opportunity for Staff/Junior Accountant candidates who want to become a critical part of an innovative company. To succeed in this Staff/Junior Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you will succeed in this role. Key responsibilities
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Requirements
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Excellent attention to detail
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Foundational knowledge in expense reports
Knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements
Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Outlook
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Tax Reporting experience
General familiarity with Microsoft Word
Proficiency in account analysis
Practical knowledge of Sales Tax
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
