Great opportunity in North Idaho for a Grant/FC bookkeeper-

The bookkeeper with strong Grant Management experience is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, administrative and personnel services in order to meet federal and state requirements and support operations. Working with the Leadership team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position will also interact with the Board of Directors.

Oversee the general accounting and financial reporting, ensuring systems and procedures are documented and implemented in accordance with GAAP.

Manage day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable using QuickBooks, producing reports as requested.

Follow policies and procedures that adhere to internal controls and segregation of duties.

Work directly with the Executive Director, Board Treasurer and Finance Committee members regarding financial transactions, budgets and reports.

Prepare annual agency budget for the Executive Director and Finance Committee.

Reconcile monthly activity, generate year-end reports, and fulfill tax related requirements.

Prepare month-end financial reports including cash flow, payroll salaries to proper expense accounts, analyzes all expense accounts, bank reconciliations, and grant reconciliations for review by the Executive Director and Finance Committee.

Maintain the organization's archival and administrative files.

Administer payroll and employee benefits and organizational insurance. Payroll will include compliance reporting such as the 941 and the year end reporting.

Lead year-end Uniform Guidance audit and prepare all pertinent schedules for the auditors.

Provide timely information for completion of tax form 990.

Review all budgets for grant proposals.

Serve as Financial Point of Contact on federal, state, and local grants and contracts.

Oversee accounts receivable and communicate to ensure timely payments.

Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.

Ensure adherence and compliance with all policies and procedures related to the Finance Office.

Make recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors regarding policy and procedure modifications to comply with legal and organizational changes.


Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.

Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector.

Experience should include legal, audit, budget, and resource development.

Strong background and work experience in Finance.

Budget development and oversight experience.

Knowledge of tax and other compliance implications of non-profit status.

Grants management experience

Experience with Uniform Guidance audit a plus

Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.

Proficient in QuickBooks, excel, word, outlook, and access.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
