Description We're looking for a skilled, permanent Senior Accountant to join a budding company in the Light Manufacturing industry in the COLDWATER, Michigan area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is located in Coldwater, Michigan within the Light Manufacturing field.
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests Requirements - Proven knowledge of GAAP Accounting
General ledger experience
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Month end closings experience
Solid understanding of cost accounting
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
