Robert Half Controller (Plant)/Senior Accountant in Colfax, Wisconsin
Description We are in search of a Controller (Plant)/Senior Accountant to join our team in Colfax, Wisconsin. This role involves managing the financial activities of our organization, including conducting bank reconciliations, managing aging accounts, and handling inventory tracking. You will also play a crucial role in managing depreciation and amortization schedules, handling payroll accruals, and ensuring compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure they tie out to the general ledger
• Manage aging accounts and determine the appropriate time to contact customers
• Oversee inventory counts, delegate tasks to counters, and verify counts
• Track purchases of inventory, delivery, and treatment facility status
• Manage and verify balance sheet account reconciliations
• Handle depreciation schedules, book depreciation, and prepare roll forwards
• Manage lease schedules (ROUs and Liabilities under ASC 842)
• Handle customer deposit tracking and determine unrecorded liabilities to be accrued for
• Manage debt schedules and handle debt payments
• Oversee revenue recognition and labor and overhead allocation related to inventory
• Manage and coordinate all communications, including PBC requests and follow-ups
• Ensure all SOX items have evidence of review and approval and verify completeness and accuracy
• Track the financial performance of the company and classify expenses as COGS, SGA, or Other Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Quickbooks Online.
• Familiarity with 3M, ADP - Financial Services, and Eaton.
• Proficient in using Epicor for accounting functions.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), Annual Budget, Auditing, and Budget Processes.
• Proven experience in Month End Close and SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Understanding of depreciation accounting and experience with Annual Inventory and Cycle Count processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
