Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in College Park, Maryland
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Manager in College Park, Maryland. This role revolves around providing leadership, overseeing financial and fleet management transactions, and enhancing the efficiency of our work management system. The HR Manager will also be instrumental in contributing to campus initiatives and assisting with problem-solving related to university vehicle management.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive leadership and managerial support to all areas under your charge
• Oversee and manage all aspects of financial, budget, and fleet management transactions
• Ensure robust business process review and recommend improvements to the Department’s work management system
• Utilize technology and automated work order systems to improve work practices and procedures
• Oversee the unit vehicle repairs and fleet services departments with a focus on improving customer service and operational efficiencies
• Collaborate with staff outside of the unit to contribute to campus initiatives
• Assist with problem-solving as it relates to university vehicle management
• Administer HR general duties such as recruiting, benefits administration, payroll, and training
• Manage performance reviews and staff discipline to ensure optimal performance
• Utilize HRIS for reporting and maintaining accurate employee records
• Implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven work experience as an HR Manager or similar role
• In-depth understanding of HR functions and best practices
• Strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll process
• Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems, preferably Workday
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to devise and implement HR policies and procedures
• Experience in performance management and employee evaluation
• Familiarity with conducting different types of interviews, employee retention, and surveys
• Proficient in benefits administration and coordination
• Ability to handle personnel file maintenance and terminations
• Capable of managing new employee orientation and onboarding processes
• Strong understanding of HR compliance and HR strategy
• Proficient in managing employee relations issues and disputes
• Experience in conducting performance reviews.
