Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Collierville, Tennessee

Description Robert Half is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. This role will require the candidate to attend to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department and work closely with the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are integral functions for this position. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Collierville, Tennessee area and will be a long-term contract / temporary position.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

  • Complete full-cycle A/P

  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

  • Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned

  • Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Proven knowledge of Enter Vendor Invoices

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Strong familiarity with case management

  • Process Vendor Invoices experience highly desired

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

  • Foundational knowledge in Oracle PeopleSoft

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
