The full-time Controller position is situated in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. Controller candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. The Controller position is for candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Develop trust and credibility in the integrity of the financial reporting at the practice and line of business level.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Measure, report and ensure compliance with loan covenants per bank financing agreement(s)
Maintains patient confidentiality
Always do the right thing—even when no one is watching
Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including but not limited to data entry, filing, program events, and business meetings
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll and tax.
Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of financial information .
Ensures the timely and accurate completion of regulatory matters, including tax and tax reporting to provider owners.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
Leads the Financial integration process with respect to acquired entities.
Assists in the preparation reporting package and covenant calculations
Oversees the preparation of the Annual Budget
Prepare board and investor presentations
Oversee clinical bonus calculations
Manage Denovo Financial modeling and M& A
Supports Annual Audit and external Tax prep work
Public accounting foundation with a regional or big 4 public accounting firm is required with an active CPA
Public accounting engagements in multi-location healthcare services.
Supervisory experience of a team within public accounting is essential
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
7 years or more of progressive and accounting and financial experience
Able to synthesize complex or diverse information; Collect and researches data; Use intuition and experience to complement data; Design workflows and procedures
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Experience leading a team with a servant leader mentality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Ability to travel as needed
