Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Description

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the company’s financial records, from transactional entry to financial statement preparation, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive bookkeeping experience and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliations, as well as journal entries for accruals and other adjustments.

  • Handle tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

  • Manage inventory accounting and job costing, ensuring accurate valuation and tracking of materials.

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax preparers during audits and tax preparation.

  • Maintain a chart of accounts and update financial records as needed.

  • Assist management in the decision-making process by providing accurate financial analysis and recommendations.

    Requirements

5+ years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a full-charge capacity, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

In-depth knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of job costing, inventory accounting, and other manufacturing-related accounting practices.

Solid grasp of financial statement preparation, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.

Thorough knowledge of payroll processes and payroll tax reporting.

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
