Personal Injury Paralegal

Robert Half is partnered with and established and trusted plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Colorado Springs on the search for a 5+ years’ paralegal to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable firm with a low volume caseload. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Case intake

· Schedule appointments

· Scan incoming mail and responding accordingly

· Calendar Statutes of Limitations

· Open case files

· Order medical records and billsLolw

· Process medical records

· Prepare medical bill ledgers

· Follow up with clients on status of treatment

· Prepare settlement demands

· Case eFiling

· Draft initial Disclosures

· Trial preparation

· Negotiate liens

· Draft Bill of Costs

· Prepare disbursement statements

This is an in-office job in Colorado Springs, Monday through Friday. Candidates interested in this position should have 5+ years’ experience handling matters in litigation – either plaintiff’s personal injury or insurance defense. Experience summarizing medical records and with medical chronologies preferred. Our client does offer a competitive compensation and benefits package. Requirements - Proficiency in medical terminology

• General familiarity with Client Intake

• Personal Injury Litigation experience

• Legal terminology experience preferred

• Quality experience with Civil Procedure

• Wide ranging experience with federal courts

• Medical records analysis experience preferred

• Well-founded grasp of Negotiating Settlements

• Experience with trial preparation

• Practical knowledge of Client Intake

• Proven knowledge of Negotiating Settlements

• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets highly desired

• Customer service oriented communication skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality

• Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

• Ability to take ownership of projects, writing and negotiating, planning and organizing
