Robert Half is teaming up with a local defense company offering an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Buyer. As part of the team, you will establish relationships with suppliers, manage purchase orders, and facilitate communication between various teams. This role is crucial in understanding our production requirements and ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes. Responsibilities:
• Create and process purchase orders per company procurement requests
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring prompt delivery and best pricing
• Serve as the primary procurement point of contact for product teams
• Facilitate communication between production control, engineering, and suppliers regarding outside production requirements
• Develop procurement solicitations, negotiate price and delivery, and issue purchase orders
• Support the sales department with quotation and pricing
• Expedite critical orders and provide periodic status updates
• Maintain supplier certification records in SAP system and assist in migration to SAP
• Conduct vendor surveys and participate in on-site supplier audits
• Understand units of measure and determine the appropriate unit for purchasing
• Maintain accurate inventory of electronic components in the warehouse and prepare kits for manufacturers to build printed circuit boards
• Support the control of externally provided processes, products, and services for AS9100 compliance.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the defense software industry
• Proficient in PCB, PCB Design, and PCB layouts
• Experienced in handling Purchase Orders and managing relationships with Multiple Vendors
• Knowledge of SAP and AS9100 is essential
• Ability to prepare Pricing Proposals, Prepare Quotes, and Price Quotes
• Experience conducting Supplier Audits
• Knowledge of Warehouse Inventory management
• Experience with Costpoint and Deltek Costpoint
• Familiarity with Electronic Components, Electronic Manufacturing, and Manufactured Products
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proven record of successful procurement strategies
