Description
Join our team as a Paralegal or attorney in Columbia, MD if you're looking! This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working 2 days in the office per week and provides an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team while reporting to a supportive supervisor. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the initial review of incoming legal correspondence, which includes various types of subpoenas, complaints, and other litigation filings. You will also handle curative title requests and borrower inquiries while adhering to federally regulated response guidelines.
You day to day might include:
Review incoming legal correspondence, including subpoenas, complaints, and litigation filings.
Navigate internal and external legal databases to ascertain ownership of underlying properties or accounts.
Conduct risk and liability assessments to determine appropriate disposition of legal correspondence.
Draft responses to regulatory agencies, including indemnity letters.
Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely responses.
Maintain organized records of all legal correspondence and related documents.
Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field.
Bar membership, if an attorney.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a legal setting.
Proficiency in navigating legal databases and conducting legal research.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with real estate and title-related legal matters is a plus.
Experience with drafting legal documents and correspondence is preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
