We are offering an exciting opportunity in the insurance industry located in Columbia, South Carolina. The role involves functioning as a Programmer Analyst, which entails working with various systems and programming languages. The position will require a high level of technical expertise and an ability to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities include:
• Resolving technical issues, specifically related to policy processing, claims, and receivables systems
• Executing all lines rating (ALR) system work, testing, and promotions
• Responding to both internal and external requests and inquiries for information related to data and query generation
• Proficiency in understanding and utilizing TSQL and Microsoft SQL
• Demonstrating proficiency with COBOL programming
• Familiarity with IBM iSeries (AS400) for Windows
• Possessing a basic understanding of TC/Tomcat Server
• Utilizing skills in Database, COBOL - All Versions, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Requirements • Possess proficiency in COBOL across all versions
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong knowledge and experience in Database Management and Development
• Proven ability to analyze and improve existing software programs as necessary
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve programming issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with a team
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high levels of productivity
