Robert Half Tax Staff - Public in Columbia, South Carolina
A small, local firm is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team. The Tax Accountant will work with clients in some general bookkeeping as well as preparing and filing federal and state tax returns. A strong accounting background is required and tax experience is preferred, but the client is open to training.
Assemble tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
Recommend ways to improve profits and identify legal tax savings
Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, ensuring accuracy
Ensure client compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations
Participate in educational opportunities, professional organizations, networks, and read professional publications in order to stay up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
High attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Must be a creative thinker and have strong problem-solving skills
