Robert Half Small Company Controller - Retail in Columbine Hills, Colorado
Description
Robert Half has partnered with a multi-location retail business in search of a skilled and experienced controller. This is a private equity owned business in acquisition mode. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing all accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing effective financial controls.
Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Manage the staff accountant and provide support as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
7 years of accounting experience in a small company setting.
3 years of experience as a Controller.
Experience with multi-entity accounting.
Experience in the retail industry, or sales and distribution industry is a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Requirements
Qualifications:
