Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Columbus, Ohio

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the telecommunications industry. As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating customer files, identifying and clearing past due accounts, creating reports regarding the status of customer accounts, and assisting in the reconciliation of general ledger and customer accounts monthly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update customer files, including billing contact information

• Work closely with the collection team to identify and clear past due accounts

• Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested

• Assist in reconciling general ledger and customer accounts monthly

• Investigate and resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions in a timely manner

• Identify problems and inconsistencies within the accounts receivable process and recommend appropriate corrective procedures

• Monitor credits on accounts and post them in a timely fashion

• Support with other related duties as needed.

Skills

• Proficiency with SAP and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Collections

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Intermediate or higher level of Microsoft Excel skills required

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile data and analyze variances

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner. Requirements • Proficient in SAP software

• Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Collections

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
