What you get to do every single day
Reviews and documents code problems, working with other programmers to correct them
Reviews methods of processing and recommends improvements
Assembles and maintains dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
Helps create communication content for certain system changes being implemented in production
Examines user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Writes functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Makes recommendations about how, when or whether to make the changes
Serves as the in-house guide for internal clients experiencing programming problems, consulting on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting the issues. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
Provides ongoing training and assistance for end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process
Create and test programming changes for every systems development phase prior to implementation. Write test cases and expected outcomes. Review results and verify that requirements are met. May develop simple tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May recommend acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met Requirements - Demonstrated knowledge of SQL
Prior experience with FTP
Utilities experience highly valued
Experience with Workstation Support
Hands-on experience with Oracle DB
Background working with Windows OS
Strong familiarity with procedures
Earlier work involving IBM
Foundational knowledge in CICS
Proficiency in Production System
Programming experience highly preferred
Previous experience working with Debug Application
JCL experience required
Debug Techniques experience highly desired
DB2 experience preferred
COBOL (all versions) experience desired
Experience with Mainframe Application
Training experience preferred
Adeptness in consulting
General familiarity with Component Selection
Design experience preferred
Good understanding of Provide Technical Support
Comprehension of IDS
Practical knowledge of Resolve Issues
Comprehensive knowledge of documentation
Proficiency in PC and mainframe hardware/software
Demonstrated success acting in a project management capacity
Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
