Description
A leading healthcare reimbursement consulting firm is seeking a skilled Paralegal/Case Assistant to join their appeals team as an Appeals Coordinator on a contract to hire basis! The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the appeals process with Medicare's Provider Reimbursement Review Board, ensuring an efficient and effective workflow. This role will require candidates to report onsite in Concord, CA up 5 days a week for training, then transition to a flexible hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and maintain appeal documents.
Organize and manage case files.
File documents using the Review Board’s electronic filing system.
Utilize and update the firm's project management software.
Process communications from the Review Board and handle filings from all involved parties.
Compile and review appeal jurisdictional documents.
Maintain document templates and assist with other related tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or case assistant in a law office setting
Preferred: paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time-sensitive documents effectively.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
