Corporate Paralegal in Concord, California

Description

Our client, the largest builder in Northern California is looking for a Corporate Paralegal! They are passionate about the community and have been a presence in they community for almost 100 years. This is a great opportunity to join and grow with one of the fastest growing home builders and developers in California.

As a Paralegal for their corporate office, you will join a small, passionate Legal team handling a variety of projects across a dynamic and growing company in an energizing environment. You will play an essential role in managing contracts and general corporate matters, while refining workflows and helping to make the legal team operationally sound.

How You'll Fulfill Your Mission

  • Develop and implement efficient and effective systems for managing information, projects, and communications to ensure accurate and timely responses.

  • Manage and organize governance documents for the Corporation and related entities.

  • Draft, circulate, and generally manage the preparation of CC& Rs for non-DRE HOA and POA projects; assist as necessary with DRE related documents.

  • Coordinate with outside counsel as necessary on various tasks including transactional and litigation.

  • Assist with preparation and administration of purchase and sale agreements and leases.

  • Assist with purchase and sale and financing closings.

  • Complete a wide variety of administrative tasks, including managing non-disclosure agreements, helping with calendaring and travel, etc.

  • Review, draft, edit, and coordinate briefings, correspondence, reports, and documentation.

  • Complete projects independently, following up on results, and ensuring accountability. Ability and willingness to think outside the box and identify potential efficiencies.

  • Provide analytical support on projects using substantial judgment in analyzing, interpreting, integrating, and applying complex data and information as needed and assigned.

  • Monitor and update department strategic pursuits to meet organizational goals.

    Requirements

  • .At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or contracts manager in a law firm and/or in-house environment.

  • Experience with and understanding of real estate documents including financing, purchase and sale, and leasing.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and handling contract management systems.

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of agreements, including NDAs, purchase and sale agreements, HOA formation and management documents, commercial leasing, master services agreements, consulting agreements, and other commercial contracts.

  • Political Contribution reporting experience preferred.

  • High level of professionalism, motivation, and be able to work individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Ability to take the initiative to identify and complete tasks.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated capacity and passion for organization and efficiency.

  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all relationships.

Desired Multipliers

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program required.

  • California Notary license or willingness to become a Notary.

  • Solid experience with the entire lifecycle of contract management, including drafting and negotiation, approval, execution, renewal, or termination, including NDA's, preparing amendments, and generating contract status reports.

  • Experience working with DocuSign, Salesforce, and Cobblestone.

  • Corporate governance/legal entity management experience.
