Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Concord, California

Description Are you an experienced Part-Time Full Charge Bookkeeper who enjoys taking on new challenges? Robert Half is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to prepare and process payables, receivables; including cash flow management, payroll processing, all account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation for a company in the Amusement/Recreation industry. To succeed in this Part Time Bookkeeper position, you will need excellent organizational skills, effective communication skills, and have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple accounting tasks and deadlines. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a short-term contract / contract to hire opportunity in Concord, California.

What you get to do every day

  • Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Filing documents to maintain historical records

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

  • Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

  • Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll Requirements - 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

    • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

    • Experience with payroll preferred

    • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

    • Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

    • General familiarity with cash flow management

    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel

    • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

    • Practical knowledge of payroll

    • Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)

    • Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliation

    • Adeptness in bank reconciliations

    • Strong familiarity with POS (point of sale)

    • Solid understanding of Quickbooks Online

    • Highly organized and self-motivated

    • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

    • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

    • Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Proficiency with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
