They've partnered with an esteemed organization to find an experienced Staff Accountant for their team. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Proficient in ERP systems
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Microsoft Excel experience desired
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast paced environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
