Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and tax compliance for our clients. This position requires expertise in accounting principles, proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Desktop, and experience in working within an accounting firm environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform year-end close procedures including accruals and adjusting journal entries as necessary to accurately reflect financial transactions.
Prepare financial statements, trial balances, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Enter financial data into ProSeries tax software to facilitate the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Assist with payroll processing, including recording payroll transactions, calculating payroll taxes, and preparing payroll reports.
Conduct sales accounting activities such as reconciling sales transactions, recording revenue, and analyzing sales data.
Collaborate with senior staff and management to identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
Provide exceptional client service by responding to client inquiries and resolving accounting-related issues in a timely manner.
Adhere to detail oriented standards and ethical guidelines established by the accounting profession.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in an accounting firm environment.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop is required.
Experience with ProSeries tax software is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work long hours during peak periods such as tax season.
