If you're comfortable with preparing and processing financial statements and accounts and managing all general accounting and bookkeeping essential functions, Accountemps might have a job for you. The long-term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper will work at a local CPA firm along the Monterey Peninsula.

Major responsibilities for 5-7 of the CPA firm's clients will include but not limited to:

  • Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing

  • Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

  • Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping/Accounting experience

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

  • Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organization skills

  • Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments

    • Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
  • Previous experience with payroll preferred

  • Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Experience with Quickbooks Online

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Adeptness in QuickBooks

  • Foundational knowledge in Full Cycle Payroll

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Adaptive planning experience
