Nick Corieri from the Robert Half Syracuse office is working on a "nearly full remote" Cost Accountant position that will include local travel for several days each month. The company has two Upstate NY locations that the Cost Accountant will be responsible for and a well-structured management team that has been in place for many years ongoing. The chosen candidate will be an integral part of the local accounting team, focused on maintaining financial accuracy through cost accounting and account reconciliation. This role is crucial in the operations of the organization, facilitating budget planning, intercompany accounting activities, and monthly reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP policies and procedures.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist in the planning and preparation of the company's budget.

• Undertake intercompany accounting activities ensuring smooth financial operations.

• Generate monthly reports, providing a comprehensive analysis of financial activities.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP policies and procedures in all accounting tasks.

• Use spreadsheet software for account analysis and other accounting tasks.

• Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Facilitate the close of the month-end accounting period.

• Be actively involved in cost accounting processes to maintain financial accuracy.

Requirements

• Must be a current resident of New York and have the ability to travel between Ithaca and Buffalo.

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting is a must

• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks efficiently

• Proficiency in Excel is essential
