Description

We are looking for a meticulous Estimator Assistant to join our team in the construction industry located in Cottondale, Alabama. In this role, you will be heavily involved in estimating tasks including measuring quantities, preparing quotes, and reviewing construction plans among others. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in counting and measuring required materials such as wires, outlets, and fixtures for creating accurate estimates

• Utilize spatial recognition skills to visualize and trace the layout of structures, ensuring accurate estimates

• Apply strong numerical skills to handle detailed tasks and manage extensive spreadsheets

• Use software tools to generate take-offs by physically clicking and counting items from downloaded construction plans

• Draft layouts of structures using software tools such as AutoCAD, enhancing the accuracy of estimates (experience in architectural or construction drafting would be a plus)

• Leverage good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, to manage basic formulas and data related to estimation

• Utilize skills in cost estimate, construction estimation, and electrical estimating to enhance the accuracy of estimates

• Review and prepare quotes based on the estimated quantities and costs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas is required.

• Experience in Cost Estimate and Construction Estimator is a plus

• Ability to handle Spatial Data is desired.

• Knowledge of construction/contractor industry is preferred

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are needed.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
