Robert Half Benefits Analyst in Culver City, California

Description

We are offering a Contract to Hire employment opportunity for a Benefits Analyst located in Culver City, California. The position involves being a subject matter expert for internal and external benefits administration, collaborating with HR, and other internal departments to establish best practices and processes related to benefit administration.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for internal and external benefits administration.

• Collaborate with HR and other internal departments to review, develop, and establish best practices and processes related to benefit administration.

• Work with the benefit broker and vendor(s) to ensure proper employee enrollment/coverage and dispute resolution with providers.

• Provide administrative support during 401(k) quarterly meetings including scheduling, material preparation, minute-taking, and communication materials.

• Be responsible for billing, summary plan document, payroll deduction, and contribution auditing and reconciliation.

• Review benefit deductions monthly to ensure accuracy of benefit enrollment and deductions.

• Support system updates for plans, deductions, or contribution changes, audits data feeds, and works with internal and external partners to ensure carrier connections/files (data feeds) are established.

• Complete and support compliance activities such as standard audits, and federal, and state regulations.

• Assist with the open enrollment process, including the development of employee’s communications and presentations with the benefit broker.

• Oversee and direct the administration of COBRA compliance.

• Assist with all leave of absence activities, communicate approvals, denials, leave extensions, re-certifications, return to work plans, and other relevant information.

• Interpret FMLA and other state leave programs as they relate to leaves of absences.

• Support the development of wellness programs and initiatives, including design and communication to increase engagement.

• Prepare required reporting for annual filings to the IRS with the support of our vendor/broker.

• Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions and new approaches to effect continual improvements.

• Participate in benefit survey submissions and data analyses.

• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Undertake the responsibilities of the role using the tools, software, or technologies that may be available or required at the time.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Compensation & Benefits role within the Health Pharm/Biotech industry

• Proficient in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Experience with Ceridian and Dayforce software

• Knowledge of HRMS and About Time systems

• Demonstrable understanding of benefit functions

• Familiarity with claim and compensation administration

• Strong skills in compliance related to compensation and benefits

• Prior experience in managing and administering employee benefits

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Professional certification in Compensation and Benefits is a plus

• Familiarity with labor laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
