Description
Robert Half is recruiting for a strong Indirect Tax Consultant to support our privately held Manufacturing client. The Indirect Tax Consultant will primarily be responsible for integrating the Avalara Sales and Use Tax software system with the client's current accounting software to ensure that all customer delivery addresses are complete and accurate to calculate all 50 States total sales revenue on a monthly basis. The consultant will train staff on the use of Avalara software and providing detailed guidelines. The consultant will establish a process for monthly reporting, ensure all tax payment requests are timely reviewed and submitted to accounts payable for processing. This role will be located hybrid schedule in Cypress, CA.
Requirements:
Prior Avalara Sales and Use Tax Experience
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Sales and Use Tax
• Demonstrated proficiency in Avalara, Xero, and other relevant tax software
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Sales Tax and Tax - Sales & Use
• Proven ability to analyze revenues and perform sales analysis and reporting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and the general public
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an asset ( not required)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
