Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing support in various accounting areas such as accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Process incoming checks and prepare them for bank deposit.

• Handle incoming mail related to accounting functions.

• Oversee the printing of outgoing checks and ensure they are matched with the correct backup documentation.

• Identify and rectify any errors in check printing.

• Obtain necessary signatures for finalized checks and prepare them for mailing.

• Process installment billings and client statements in a timely manner.

• Research and resolve any suspense items that haven't cleared.

• Maintain an updated list of carrier website passwords and login information.

• Apply skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure smooth operations.

• Utilize 10 Key Skills to enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate vendor records and research discrepancies as needed.

• Apply knowledge of Basic Life Insurance, Casualty Insurance, Co-Insurance, Commercial Insurance, Commissions - Insurance, and Company-Paid Life Insurance in relevant tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to accurately enter vendor invoices

• Strong 10-key skills for fast and accurate data entry

• Experience in maintaining and updating vendor records

• Proven ability to research and resolve discrepancies in financial records

• Knowledge of basic life insurance, casualty insurance, co-insurance, and commercial insurance principles

• Experience with insurance commissions and company-paid life insurance

• High ethical standards and professionalism, respecting confidentiality of sensitive information

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

• Relevant educational background or equivalent work experience in accounting or finance.
