Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Dallas, Texas

Description Our client is in the process of hiring an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to be stationed in office located in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will be in charge of overseeing all aspects of monthly closing, managing the General Ledger, and supervising a small accounting team. This role also requires outstanding skills in financial analysis, reporting, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the department.

Responsibilities: • Oversee the entire process of monthly closing for our legal office, ensuring all aspects are handled efficiently and accurately. • Manage the General Ledger, tracking billable hours/rates and revenue recognition. • Supervise a small accounting team responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable transaction processing. • Review the preparation of monthly account reconciliations and ensure their accuracy. • Handle the management and reconciliation of bank accounts. • Conduct various financial analyses to investigate financial results and understand impacts for communication to management. • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and provide detailed explanations where necessary. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department. • Respond to ad hoc financial reporting requests, conduct other analyses, and handle special projects as requested by management. • Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, Legal Services, Aderant, Elite 3E, and US GAAP to execute tasks effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the legal industry or detail oriented services industry • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrated experience in auditing • Familiarity with billing functions, particularly in a legal setting • Strong understanding of legal services and their financial aspects • Proficiency with Aderant and Elite 3E financial management systems • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP • Excellent communication and leadership skills • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • CPA certification is preferred
