Robert Half International Assistant Controller in Dallas, Texas


For our North Dallas client base, seeking Assistant Controllers for consulting engagements.

Perform specific general accounting duties and is responsible for accurate financial data integrity, security levels, and financial reporting.

• Provides technical guidance and adherence to policy for timely processing and internal control procedures.

• Produces monthly and annual Consolidated Financial Statement of Activities and related P & L reports on revenue generating departments and other ad hoc financial reports for management with accuracy and in a timely manner.

• Researches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts.

• Responsible for daily and monthly accounting cycle to include but not limited to month-end/annual closing. Prepares monthly financial reporting and forecasting models.

• Responsible for preparation annual financial reporting and schedules in support of activities of external auditors.

• Ensures capital asset assignments are reconciled.

• Work with Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

• Recommends and updates necessary accounting policies and procedures and provides internal control oversight recommendations for employee usage of P-Cards, Concur travel and entertainment reimbursements.

• Develops a competent and efficient staff by supervising and training in proper procedures for performing related job responsibilities.

• Provides backup in A/P, Billing, Revenue and Payroll as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

At least 6-8 years of increasingly responsible professional experience and management

Knowledge of accounting standards related to not for profits and universities in addition to federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Possess excellent problem solving, analytical and business skills; and strong project management skills to meet deadlines.

Advanced knowledge of the use of top tier ERP systems

Advanced Microsoft Office - Excel

Ability to work with various departments with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrate a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
