A successful company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half Finance to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Dallas, Texas region. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations Requirements - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
