This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team Requirements - Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
High attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Solid understanding of Balance Sheets
