Description
We are seeking a Fund Controller to join our Private Equity team in Downtown Dallas. This role is crucial to our operations, with responsibilities including the oversight of financial statement production, fund activity monitoring, and management of service provider relationships. As a Controller, you will also be expected to enhance and automate work processes, as well as manage cash balances and cash forecasts for all corporate and fund bank accounts.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the production of fund and corporate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements and provide valuable comments for multiple funds and corporate entities.
• Monitor fund activity throughout the quarter and perform regular reviews of Fund NAV packages.
• Liaise with internal resources, external fund administrators, and auditors to meet reporting deadlines.
• Recalculate management and incentive fees and prepare wire requests for fee collection.
• Manage and enforce the firm's compliance policy, ensuring all rules and regulations are adhered to.
• Oversee the execution of annual fund audits and tax filings, including the preparation and delivery of annual K1’s to investors.
• Develop and maintain documentation for fund processes, policies, and procedures.
• Manage all service provider relationships, ensuring they meet the company's needs and standards.
• Assist in the acquisition of various lines of credit to support the company's financial needs.

Requirements
• Must possess a minimum of seven years of experience in a controller role, with a strong focus on fund accounting and private equity fund.
• Demonstrated knowledge of private equity is essential.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, including the ability to develop complex financial models, is expected.
• Experience in developing financial models for investment purposes is essential.
• Candidates should exhibit a deep understanding of investment financial modeling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are a must.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are expected.
• Candidates should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation is expected.
• Proven leadership skills including the ability to coach, assess, evaluate, develop, motivate, and empower team members is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other financial software is expected.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or MBA would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations is required.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections is essential.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution is expected.
