The permanent Controller position is situated in the Dallas, Texas area. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities

  • Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Deep understanding of Cam Reconciliation

  • CPA experience preferred

  • Real estate experience preferred

  • MRI experience

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
