Description Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Controller to join a reputable CPA Firm - Other company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties - Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports - Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Excellent oral and written communications skills - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Microsoft Excel experience - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required - Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills - Be detailed, flexible, and organized - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
