Description
Robert Half Finance and Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a multi-billion national real estate development and management company in Dallas for a Controller position. This role is essential to our firm's financial, accounting, and tax compliance operations. The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with other investment team members, leading various financial and accounting operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management of finance and accounting operations for the development company and its projects
• Supervise corporate and project level accounting teams, managing their day-to-day operations
• Coordinate and oversee annual GAAP/IFRS audits for each development project
• Partner with development project leads to facilitate and oversee construction draw process
• Manage treasury functions including capital calls, distributions, and bank account creation/monitoring
• Oversee corporate accounting and financial reporting
• Create, monitor, and reforecast annual corporate budget
• Assist in the preparation of corporate board presentations
• Lead corporate and project level tax compliance process with third party tax firms
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and procedures
• Manage various service providers across the platform including auditors, tax consultants, and banking relationships
• Manage accounting personnel, monitor staffing needs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies
• Facilitate effective communication between accounting teams and other departments.
Interested candidates must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in either public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience, CPA is highly preferred and real estate experience.

Requirements
Interested candidates must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in either public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience, CPA is highly preferred and real estate experience.
