Robert Half Financial Analyst/Oracle System Admin in Dallas, Texas

Description Robert Half is working with a fast-growing Banking company to hire an outstanding Financial Analyst. In addition to measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you will conduct financial modeling on a variety of financial products in this Financial Analyst role. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. As a key business partner on a dynamic team, you will work in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The daily tasks of a Financial Analyst position includes supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. On top of your primary responsibilities, you will also assist with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. How you will make an impact

  • Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Lead monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

  • The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information

  • Drive P& L forecasting and Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

  • Work closely with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close processes

  • Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

  • Edit and manage forecasting reports

  • Recognize potential risks and opportunities while analyzing performance to date

  • Work alongside cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are properly executed

  • Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization Requirements - Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

  • Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience favored)

  • CPA experience preferred

  • Strong familiarity with Oracle EPM

  • Cash Flow Reports experience

  • Expertise in strategic planning

  • Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
