Based in the Dallas, Texas area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This role's duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
