Description
LITIGATION LEGAL ASSISTANT needed to join the Dallas team of a popular and well known law firm in North Dallas. Give yourself a chance. It can be all you need to succeed! This role supports two attorneys. One practices construction law with emphasis on liens and bonds, creditors rights, and evictions. The other attorney practices Government Law. You will cover a broad spectrum of tasks at your desk related to drafting legal documents, e-filing, and supporting your attorneys on various projects.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, with accuracy and thoroughness.
• Oversee e-filing processes for both state and federal courts.
• Engage with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a detail oriented and effective manner.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for various tasks; familiarity with WordPerfect will be beneficial.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding and application of litigation processes and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Display excellent administrative skills, along with flawless grammar and proofreading abilities.
• Collaborate closely with two attorneys, one specializing in construction law with a focus on liens and bonds, creditors rights, and evictions, and the other in governmental law.
• Use advanced case management software and tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and CompuLaw.
• Manage calendar and client relations efficiently.
• Apply knowledge and experience in civil litigation, construction litigation, and defense litigation.
• Understand and work with federal government bonds.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Litigation Legal Assistant role.
• Proficiency in using Aderant software for legal practice management.
• Strong skills in using Adobe Acrobat for document management and editing.
• Familiarity with Case Management Software for effective case handling.
• Experience with CompuLaw for matter management and risk mitigation.
• Ability to handle Calendar Management effectively, ensuring no conflicts or missed appointments.
• Proven track record in using MS Office Suite.
• Outstanding Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in Civil Litigation, dealing with disputes between parties in non-criminal cases.
• Knowledge of Construction Litigation, specifically related to construction contracts and disputes.
• Experience in Defense Litigation, representing defendants in civil or criminal trials.
• Experience with electronic court filings (state and federal)
• Understanding of the Federal Government legal system and procedures.
